Develop Explosive Speed & Agility ![]() Looking for an edge on the competition? Do you want to take your game to the next level? I believe that to produce a great athlete you must become faster and stronger than your competition. When you are faster and stronger, you instantly have an edge. Speed is the most crucial element in sports performance and with this in mind I am dedicated to helping you reach your maximum potential on and off the field. My training philosophy consists of 5 elements: Increase Speed, Agility and Quickness By focusing on proper basic mechanics specific to your sport, I will give you a quicker first step and enable you to excel at your sport with speed in mind. Power and Explosiveness I will increase your range of motion, balance, stability and explosiveness, giving you more power in your sport. Improve Balance and Core Strength Better coordination and balance are essential to body control. By focusing on movement technique and sport-specific movement patterns, your sports speed will be greatly enhanced. Strength Training Build core body strength and stability while improving muscle strength and tone, by using our fast-twitch muscle training methods. Injury Prevention The best way to reduce injury is through my integrated training program that develops flexibility, stability, core strength and proper movement technique. We also always start each training session with a 10 minute Dynamic stretch and warm-up to prepare the body to reach optimal performance. Before an athlete ever worries about how well they kick, hit, catch, or throw, they need to have proper running form along with adequate strength and flexibility levels. Most athletes over look this step and think that it will just come naturally as they play their sport. There is a best way to do everything, run, stop, jump, land, and change of direction. My aim is to teach you these techniques to give you an advantage over all other athletes that are skipping this very important step. I will continuously challenge you to bring an attitude of hard work, accountability, and total effort to each workout so the you improve physically and mentally. Fast muscles make the unbeatable difference in running, kicking, throwing, jumping, swinging a bat, golf club or tennis racket and just about any other sports related skill you can think of. You see, we all know that conditioned muscles give you strength and endurance, and that is important to sports success. Strength allows you to move heavier objects against greater resistance. Endurance allows you to repeat movements without getting tired. But what about speed? The ability to move fast and quickly. This missing element has always been elusive to most athletes. Why?, because athletes have not been taught how to properly condition their muscles for speed. We even make the excuse that speed is something we were born with and can't be changed. But the fact is muscles can be conditioned for speed and quickness as long as you do it properly. Complete muscle conditioning is like a three-legged stool. If all three legs are in place then the stool is stable and solid. But what happens if one of the legs is weak, broken or even missing? With out all 3 legs, the stool will not be able to stand. The three legs of muscle conditioning for all sports activities are speed, strength and endurance. You will need all three. Being strong is important. But being strong and slow is a disadvantage. You will be learning about muscle speed - how to make your muscles faster. This is the element that is almost always ignored by coaches, trainers and athletes. So for starters, here is the number #1 thing you will need to know and always remember about getting faster: It does not matter whether your sport is football, basketball, baseball, soccer, golf, tennis, volleyball, or any other athletic activity....whatever your athletic skills; beginner, youth, high school, college, professional, young or old, in shape or out of shape, male or female... The secret to speed is to make your muscles contract quicker, and you can not train your muscles to contract faster in the same way that you train them for strength and endurance. That is what most people do not grasp. And here is why: The reason your muscles have both speed and strength is because they are made up of different types of muscle fibers. One type of fiber is designed to make your muscles move very quickly for short periods of time. Another type of fiber is designed to give your muscles strength and to contract repeatedly over a long period time. These fiber types are called fast twitch fibers (for speed) and slow twitch fibers (for strength and endurance). If you are training with weights doing multiple repetitions or doing plyometrics exercises (which is what most training programs teach), you are conditioning your slow twitch muscles fibers for strength and endurance, and your fast twitch muscle fibers are being ignored as far as developing muscle speed is concerned. This is why, in many athletes, the fast twitch muscles fibers are almost always underdeveloped in their natural ability to contract quickly. The training I will be showing you involves using resistance bands with isometric exercises. Now, that may sound unusual to those who are accustomed to more traditional training methods. But, you will learn why isometrics with the resistance band is the ideal training strategy to isolate, strengthen and quicken your muscles for speed and quickness like you have never experienced before. Now, here is the part you are really going to love: For endurance you will need to train for long periods of time to condition your muscles to not tire as quickly. To condition for strength you will need to train with a great degree of effort and hard work to get your muscles strong. But for speed, training is fast and easy, and leaves you feeling light and responsive. And fast twitch muscles fibers respond to conditioning twice as fast as other muscle fibers. So you will be seeing results much quicker also. Now is there any reason not to include proper speed training in your sports training program? No, not anymore, now that you are about to find out what others have been totally ignoring. This is the Real Deal You will get Faster and Stronger You will increase Power and Agility You will improve Endurance and Flexibility Be the best you can.
